Völkerschlachten, Familiendramen, Glaubenskriege, Identitätskonflikte – der Mensch kämpft im Außen wie im Innern. Politik, Gesellschaft, Religion, Psyche: überall Spannungen, überall Bruchstellen. Menschenrechte sind nicht selbstverständlich. Geschlechterfragen polarisieren. Der Glaube wird zur Grenze. Frieden, Freiheit, Wohlstand – der große Traum der Menschheit ist lebendig, aber zerbrechlich. Hoffnung trifft auf Realität.

Battles between nations, religiously motivated conflicts, family dramas, conflicts of identity – more than ever we are struggling internally among ourselves and externally among others. In all facets of society there is tension: be it political, societal, religious or psychological. Even strenuously wrought human rights are questioned, gender issues polarise. Faith becomes a limitation. Humanity’s dream of peace, freedom and prosperity is very much alive but also very fragile. In this exhibition hope meets reality.
